This quilt was commissioned as a gift for a lifelong friend. Embodying life, wisdom, and the feminine divine, the tree is cast in shadows and rays of light. Each leaf in the Feminine Tree of Life contains a word, phrase, or symbol unique to Pam, the gift recipient. I learned that Pam loves Kanji script, so I studied the strokes and painted them in order, choosing characters that reflect core elements of Pam’s being— joy, strength, friendship, and health.

Gordo's looking for a home! I carefully drew and painted Gordo’s beautiful wrinkles, stitched in details, and reinforced his tusks with additional fabric, so it’s a commanding, eye-catching, three-dimensional piece. I cut and stitched several hundred pieces of fabric together to make a unique border. The quilt backing features a bunny-soft fabric called Minky Luxe Cuddle Sable. The quilt feels like a luxurious hug!

I personally delivered this gift to my baby brother, Alex, who became the second-youngest Captain at Delta! This was my first-ever Hand-Painted Luxury Quilt, and I got to recreate my brother’s favorite photo of a gorgeous San Diego sunset. I did free-motion quilting on the whole quilt, bringing depth and texture to the waves, clouds, figures, and paw prints! The quilt backing is my favorite bunny-soft fabric.

Wolverine’s looking for a home! Featuring a border design with vintage Marvel comic covers, Wolverine is the centerpiece. He’s featured here in his classic suit, and I used soft gold metallic thread to stitch the fiery flame background. This artwork pays homage to The Last Stand, with Wolverine as the only capable one to go against The Phoenix.
The coolest surprise: Turn out the lights to see Wolverine’s adamantium claw glow in the dark! I hand-stitched around it using thick (washable!) thread, making this is a dream gift for any Marvel comic fan.
